At Dawn till Dusk Childcare, we believe that children’s early years are the most important years of their lives and as a team of dedicated and highly qualified, experienced staff, we are extremely passionate about ensuring this is true for all of our children, whilst recognising their own individuality and specific needs.
We want children and their families to warmly look back at their time with us and see it as a cherished part of their childhood.
Baby Room (0-2 year old)
We offer a safe, nurturing and warm setting, where every baby in our care is valued and loved within our home from home environment. We use a 1 adult to 3 children ratio and we never have more than 6 babies in at a time.
We firmly believe in the importance of strong, secure relationships as this is the foundation for all future learning and development, so staff spend lots of time at the babies level, creating strong bonds and attachments.
Staff consistently use singing and rhymes as a means of developing those vital early communication skills. Babies are supported to explore the world around them using their senses and gain independence, whilst their routines from home are carefully followed.
We recognise each child as an individual and understand that all children develop at different ages and stages.
Toddler Room (2-3 year old)
Our Toddler Room offers a fun, stimulating and vibrant atmosphere that allows our children to be independent, unique, happy and safe. We know from experience that when a child feels all of these 4 things, they are well equipped to begin their school journey and grow to become confident lifelong learners.
Invitations to play are offered based on children's interests, that inspire wonder and curiosity.
Each child is valued and appreciated and is assigned their own key person who helps to support their learning. We use a 1 adult to 4 children ratio.

Outside Area
We have our own beautiful, safe and secure garden, which allows the children to independently learn about the natural world around them.
Our space allows children to move freely, building up their confidence in their own abilities and gross motor skills whilst also allowing them to take safe risks and challenges.
We regularly explore the local community and are often seen paying local shops a visit!
Breakfast & After School Club
We offer before and after school care to the children that attend Middleton-In-Teesdale Nursery and Primary school. Breakfast club includes a nutritious and balanced healthy breakfast ensuring your child is geared up to start their school day and prepared to learn.
After School Club again offers a healthy snack along with a wide variety of exciting activities such as baking/cooking, arts and crafts, STEM activities, the opportunities for imaginative and role play as well as quieter activities for those who just wish to sit down and relax after a busy day at school.
Transition Program
We work really closely in partnership with the Middleton in Teesdale Primary School.
When the time comes, your child has a seamless transition into the school nursery. This massively benefits their personal and social skills as well as their confidence.
Nursery FAQ's
Please provide nappies and wipes (if needed), a change of clothes and appropriate outside wear (coat, gloves etc).
If you wish to provide a packed lunch for your child, you can. All snacks will be provided.
If your child uses a comforter - dummy, teddy, blanket etc., we do as you provide these, at least until your child settles in nursery.
All staff apply for a job at Dawn till Dusk using an application form. Upon a successful interview, they provide the names of 2 references, and copies of their qualifications and a DBS check is carried out. Dawn till Dusk carries out ID verification checks and ensures the new employee is allowed to work in the UK. A robust induction procedure is in place upon the commencement of employment.
Absolutely! We would like to ask that your baby is comfortable and will take expressed milk from a bottle.
Could you please label your breastmilk with your baby's name and the date it was expressed. This can be given to us frozen. It will be stored in our fridge and prepared per current guidance.
Absolutely!
Children of any age, who require sleep after lunchtime, go into the quieter baby room where the curtains are drawn, fairy lights glow, and lullabies play. We have a choice of cots or sleeping mats, and we provide each child with a bag of individual bedding clearly labeled with their name to avoid cross-infection.
Fees are paid a month in advance, so you will be issued an invoice at the end of the month to pay for the month ahead.
You can then pay by bank transfer.
